My take on
Ghidra (NationalSecurityAgency/ghidra) after testing it headless on a CPU-only Linux box:
- ✅ It works without a screen or a GPU. Headless mode imported, analyzed and decompiled my test program in about 8 seconds.
- 🔍 The decompiler is the star. From the compiled file alone it rebuilt readable C, including the exact PIN check.
- ☕ You need Java 21 first. It's not in the download, and the Ghidra zip is about 570 MB.
- 🧩 Headless means scripting. To print the code I wrote a 20-line script. The normal desktop app needs a display, which I didn't use.
- 👍 Great free tool for security folks and the curious. My test was a tiny program, not a big real-world app.
